Water line break in South Oakland affects Pitt academic, housing buildings

A water line broke this morning at around 5:30 a.m. at the corner of Roberto Clemente Drive and South Bouquet Street. Pittsburgh Water and Sewage Authority is aware of the issue and is working to repair the broken water line and restore water to the multiple affected University buildings. Water has recently been restored to Mervis Hall.

Bouquet Gardens apartments residents are still without water. Pitt delivered bottled water to building lobbies, and alternative restrooms and water fountains are available in Building J for residents. Residents can shower in the Baierl Student Rec Center and Trees Hall.

South Bouquet Street between Sennott and Joncaire Street and Roberto Clemente Drive at the loading dock are closed.

Water access is expected to be restored to all affected buildings by 7 p.m. tonight.
