Pitt sent out an ENS alert Thursday at 9:37 a.m. reporting a gas leak in Bouquet Gardens apartment buildings B, E and H. The gas service was restored as of 8 p.m. and all building appliances were turned back on by 9:15 p.m. Thursday evening.
Residents were evacuated while police officers and representatives from the gas company investigated further. Pitt officials also advised that people avoid Oakland Avenue. Residents and other affected individuals were are able to go to the Eatery, Posvar, Hillman or David Lawrence while the situation was being addressed.
